How it Works

Real Data, Real Difference, Real Time.  The Travel GPA Report Card utilizes live data feeds from some of the largest and most respected travel management companies in the U.S. and Canada. 

The intent of the report card is to present an analysis of your company’s travel performance based on an overall grade detailing individual components that generate a report card equivalent to an individual’s own credit bureau report. A scale showing the total compiled GPA or score for the company shows the category rating group that ranges from Below Average to Excellent.

A Report Car Summary is produced providing you with your company’s total score that is broken down into two categories:

  • Positive Factors that Raised Your Score
  • Negative Factors that Lowered Your Score

All data is provided to us in a company confidential format - we know the key metrics, the SIC (industry code) and region of the company that is meticulously ‘scrubbed’ to assure that the analysis you receive is accurate. Your account data is placed into our system and run against the live database giving you the most up to date picture of your travel management program.

Transactions Measured: Travel GPA content is based on actual net tickets. When generating Report Card metrics, we start with the total number of invoices, subtract out credits and exchanges to end up with a net ticket count. This allows Travel GPA to present a more accurate benchmark measurement of actual valid ticket purchases.

Report Card Data Sources: The real objective that we can realize from this service is not the actual output of the report car but rather our ability to capture and build the industry’s largest benchmarking database. The true value is in the information itself and not the report card itself. Travel Management Companies that have subscribed to Cornerstone's iBank Travel Management System can transmit their clients historical travel spend results to our Travel GPA Load servers located here in Marlborough, MA in any of the three methods listed below. Soon, we will accept a generic XML data transmission but, for now, we are iBank centric.The options for iBank data capture include:

  • iBank Agency Data Share
  • iBank XML Broadcast Report Submission
  • iBank Data Cleanser Submission

An overall rating that is equivalent to a GPA is scored as follows:

  • 1.0-2.0 (Needs Improvement)
  • 2.1-2.9 (Average)
  • 3.0-4.0 (Excellent)

Once your GPA has been calculated, you have the ability to set goals giving you the ability to pick and chose the metrics you wish to measure, what your stated goals are for each metric and the weight according to our grading criteria for those items referenced below:
